Prevented Ocean Plastic IN IN 2022 WE WE WERE DELIGHTED TO TO BECOME THE FIRST RETAILER IN IN IRELAND TO TO USE PREVENTED OCEAN OCEAN PLASTIC PLASTIC (POP) A A A A A A A A A A NEW FORM OF FRESH FOOD PACKAGING USING “OCEAN-BOUND PLASTIC” — THAT WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE ENDED UP IN IN IN IN MARINE ENVIRONMENTS We worked with one of our local suppliers Keohane Seafoods to to incorporate POP into the packaging of of of five fresh fish products This will equate to to a a a a reduction of of of 18 7 tonnes of of of plastic plastic saving approximately 750 000 plastic plastic bottles from entering the ocean per year The Prevented Ocean Plastic incorporated into our our packaging is sourced from countries and regions which may lack waste management infrastructure or collection incentives or where that infrastructure is is simply overwhelmed by population growth and tourism Discarded water bottles found within a a a a a a a 50km (30 miles) distance of an an an ocean coastline or or or major waterway that feeds into the the ocean are collected sorted and processed to to the the highest standard before they can be be incorporated into our fresh fish Reusable bottles for Fresh Orange Juice
